Frequently Asked Questions about the WytcheHaven Weekends

1. Why do we have to pre-register? Why can't I pay at the gate?

For the privacy and security of this event and our attendees, we are not publishing the location or directions to the camp site. Only pre-registered attendees will receive ticket packets including the directions to the event. We also have to know in advance how many people to prepare for, so that we can properly estimate for the services necessary to run the event.

2. I'd like to vend at the weekends - what do I need to know?

We’d love to have you! There are no additional monetary fees to vend, just the event registration fee (see registration form for event prices) and we ask that each vendor donate one item or service of their choice to our Raffle, which raises money for our land fund. Each vendor has a 13 x 13 space on Artisan’s Alley, with camping available directly across from each vending area. There is no available electricity or water, and vendors are expected to supply their own canopy or tent, tables and chairs. Vendors must also take responsibility for the security of their items during the weekend. To this end, we also ask that vendors donate an hour of their time each day to patrol Artisan's Alley. To facilitate set-up, all registered vendors are welcome to arrive on Thursday at noon to set up their space on Artisan Alley.

3. Why aren't the directions to the site posted on the web page?

We don't include a map or directions on the website to ensure the security and privacy of this event, and the attendees. The ticket packet that will be mailed to all registered attendees will include a walking map of the site, detailed directions to the event site, a program of the weekend's events, and of course, your tickets. This is also why we require all attendees to pre-register, and why we will not be selling tickets at the gate.

4. When you say the campsite is primitive, exactly how primitive are we talking?

This is a brand new camping area in a forestry setting. There is no water or electricity in the camping areas, so remember to bring at least one gallon of water per person per day. There are port-a-potties available, but no flush toilets. We will have an operational hot shower available. Due to the extremely variable weather conditions in Arkansas this time of year, remember to pack clothes for cold, hot, wet and dry. A list of suggested items to bring will also be included in the ticket packets.

5. Can I drive up to a camping site? Can I park at my campsite?

There is an established road system through the camping area, so you will be able to drive and unload at your campsite; however, we just ask that all cars be parked in the parking area during the event. We'd prefer to be surrounded by the beautiful natural setting, and not a lot of metallic vehicles. For those who will be camping in their cars, the parking area physically adjoins the camping area, so you will never be that far away from the activities. We can also accommodate a very limited number of RV's, although we respectfully ask that you not run your generators, as this will disturb the peace of the event site setting.

6. What can I NOT bring to the Weekend?

All registered attendees will have signed a Perfect Love/Perfect Trust agreement, to enter the event with the intention to obey all secular laws, and to treat all fellow attendees with honor and respect. We will not tolerate firearms, illegal substances or underage drinking. We also respectfully require that all pets or familiars be left at home. Anyone who is found to have violated this trust during the Weekend will be immediately escorted off the property.

7. Why is the event clothing optional?

As we are an interfaith organization, we are open and welcoming to all spiritual paths on this sacred journey. Some paths choose to worship the divine partially clothed. As we do not wish to be in any way discriminatory, we have purposely created sacred space where all feel welcome to worship the divine as they so choose, in an atmosphere of perfect love and perfect trust, while obeying all secular laws and with honor and respect to all fellow attendees. This is also why minors are not allowed admission to a Weekend unless they are accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

8. Where in Arkansas is the event located?

We’re about 10 miles south of the city of Salem, in Fulton County, right off of Highway 9. We’re east of Mountain Home, south of Mammoth Springs, west of Ash Flats and north of Melbourne.

9. Where’s the closest store to get gas/ice?

Salem would be the closest city, and approximately 9 miles away is a full service Shell Gas Station, Sonic fast food and the Town and Country grocery mart.

10. Where’s the closest liquor store to the site?

As Fulton is a dry county, you’ll need to drive the 30 miles to Mammoth Springs/Thayer to purchase alcohol in Missouri. There is a shorter drive through Moko on Hwy 395, but it’s hilly and windy.

11. Is there any food on site?

Only the food you bring with you. We don’t currently have any food vendors at the events, although we do provide free coffee, tea and hot chocolate every morning at the Wytche’s Brew. We often recommend folks bring simple meal items, such as sandwich fixins their first time out, to make meal time easier.

12. Are these events family-friendly?

YES. We love young ones, and try to provide an event where families can celebrate their beliefs together. However, there are no “baby-sitting” services offered – parents are expected to take full responsibility of their children at all times. Parents should also take into consideration the clothing optional atmosphere of our events when planning a family weekend to WytcheHaven.

13. What if I need to run to town during the event?

Not a problem – just stop by the check-in station and drop off your badge with the attendants. It will be waiting for you when you return to the site. For folks leaving after gate hours, the combination to the gate lock will be given to all attendees in the ticket packet – the combination will be different for each event.

14. Can I camp in my vehicle?

Yes you can – as long as you set up “camp” in the parking area. We prefer not to have the main camping area surrounded by vehicles when ever possible. Exceptions will be made for Weekenders with disabilities and for vendors who need to camp in their vehicles.
